France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 2.04%
Budrigannews.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Gas & Water and General Financial sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 2.04%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 2.03%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA), which rose 6.94% or 1.58 points to trade at 24.26 at the close. Meanwhile, Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) added 5.14% or 1.72 points to end at 35.16 and Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) was up 4.12% or 4.10 points to 103.72 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Kering SA (EPA:PRTP), which rose 0.03% or 0.15 points to trade at 496.90 at the close. Carrefour SA (EPA:CARR) added 0.12% or 0.02 points to end at 16.41 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was up 0.19% or 0.02 points to 10.55.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Renault SA (EPA:RENA) which rose 6.94% to 24.26, Air France KLM SA (EPA:AIRF) which was up 6.63% to settle at 1.22 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which gained 5.56% to close at 16.81.
The worst performers were Technip Energies BV (EPA:TE) which was down 4.21% to 10.00 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 1.65% to settle at 16.02 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 1.56% to 177.00 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 359 to 175 and 100 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.15% or 2.55 to $1,703.25 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 2.61% or 2.50 to hit $98.28 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 2.46% or 2.44 to trade at $101.54 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.65% to 1.01, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.40% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.46% at 107.90.
