France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.78%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Utilities and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 1.78%, while the SBF 120 index added 1.73%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Worldline SA (EPA:WLN), which rose 4.74% or 1.80 points to trade at 39.74 at the close. Meanwhile, Airbus Group SE (EPA:AIR) added 4.10% or 4.30 points to end at 109.06 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was up 4.08% or 3.86 points to 98.58 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Danone SA (EPA:DANO), which fell 0.73% or 0.40 points to trade at 54.56 at the close. Vivendi SA (EPA:VIV) declined 0.32% or 0.04 points to end at 10.99 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 0.31% or 0.04 points to 12.74.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 6.95% to 26.17, Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which was up 6.85% to settle at 25.26 and Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which gained 6.71% to close at 20.04.
The worst performers were Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was down 7.14% to 12.95 in late trade, Danone SA (EPA:DANO) which lost 0.73% to settle at 54.56 and Getlink SE (EPA:GETP) which was down 0.62% to 18.43 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 375 to 158 and 108 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.01% or 0.13 to $1,846.43 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 3.47% or 3.83 to hit $114.16 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 2.67% or 2.97 to trade at $114.09 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 101.98.
