France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 1.27%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Consumer Goods, Technology and Industrials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 rose 1.27%, while the SBF 120 index gained 1.22%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which rose 4.79% or 2.62 points to trade at 57.31 at the close. Meanwhile, Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) added 4.59% or 1.17 points to end at 26.68 and L’Oreal SA (EPA:OREP) was up 3.12% or 10.05 points to 332.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which fell 2.28% or 1.47 points to trade at 63.09 at the close. Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) declined 0.71% or 0.08 points to end at 11.55 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was down 0.40% or 0.05 points to 12.43.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which rose 7.99% to 26.09, Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which was up 5.12% to settle at 145.70 and Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which gained 4.92% to close at 179.20.
The worst performers were Valneva (EPA:VLS) which was down 3.89% to 10.86 in late trade, Klepierre SA (EPA:LOIM) which lost 2.82% to settle at 20.70 and Gecina SA (EPA:GFCP) which was down 2.50% to 105.20 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 313 to 230 and 85 ended unchanged.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 1.25% or 23.05 to $1,871.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in July rose 1.44% or 1.66 to hit $116.92 a barrel, while the August Brent oil contract rose 1.30% or 1.51 to trade at $117.80 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.92% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 101.79.
