France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.80%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Oil & Gas and Utilities sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 added 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.81%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA), which rose 3.13% or 0.45 points to trade at 14.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) added 2.40% or 1.18 points to end at 50.30 and Veolia Environnement VE SA (EPA:VIE) was up 2.00% or 0.48 points to 24.47 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which fell 0.69% or 0.34 points to trade at 48.51 at the close. Sanofi SA (EPA:SASY) declined 0.68% or 0.66 points to end at 96.85 and Orange SA (EPA:ORAN) was down 0.55% or 0.06 points to 10.06.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which rose 6.37% to 17.55, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was up 4.64% to settle at 20.75 and Stellantis NV (EPA:STLA) which gained 3.13% to close at 14.78.
The worst performers were Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) which was down 2.40% to 12.59 in late trade, Quadient SA (EPA:QDT) which lost 1.67% to settle at 18.27 and Casino Guichard Perrachon SA (EPA:CASP) which was down 1.25% to 12.62 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 336 to 207 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in Metropole Television SA (EPA:MMTP) fell to 52-week lows; falling 2.40% or 0.31 to 12.59.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.72% or 12.85 to $1,804.05 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 0.81% or 0.72 to hit $89.73 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 0.91% or 0.86 to trade at $95.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.27% at 106.20.
