France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.51%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Financials, Basic Materials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.51%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.53%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI), which rose 5.06% or 0.70 points to trade at 14.50 at the close. Meanwhile, WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) added 2.20% or 1.48 points to end at 68.73 and BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP) was up 2.15% or 1.07 points to 50.92 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX), which fell 5.10% or 7.75 points to trade at 144.10 at the close. Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) declined 1.67% or 1.42 points to end at 83.38 and Thales (EPA:TCFP) was down 1.18% or 1.40 points to 116.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Orpea SA (EPA:ORP) which rose 5.62% to 32.52, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which was up 5.06% to settle at 14.50 and Trigano SA (EPA:TRIA) which gained 3.73% to close at 119.70.
The worst performers were EssilorLuxottica SA (EPA:ESLX) which was down 5.10% to 144.10 in late trade, Gaztransport et Technigaz SA (EPA:GTT) which lost 3.69% to settle at 109.60 and Aperam SA (AS:APAM) which was down 2.73% to 34.27 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 271 to 269 and 100 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.79% or 14.67 to $1,843.93 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in June fell 3.64% or 3.75 to hit $99.34 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract fell 3.58% or 3.79 to trade at $102.15 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.20% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 103.93.
