France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.33%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Consumer Goods and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.33% to hit a new 1-month high, while the SBF 120 index added 0.21%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were BNP Paribas SA (EPA:BNPP), which rose 2.08% or 0.91 points to trade at 44.73 at the close. Meanwhile, Renault SA (EPA:RENA) added 2.07% or 0.54 points to end at 26.36 and Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) was up 1.96% or 0.22 points to 11.64 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI), which fell 2.12% or 1.76 points to trade at 81.34 at the close. Legrand SA (EPA:LEGD) declined 1.61% or 1.26 points to end at 77.20 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was down 1.30% or 4.30 points to 325.80.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eramet SA (EPA:ERMT) which rose 3.97% to 94.35, Coface (EPA:COFA) which was up 3.70% to settle at 10.36 and Faurecia (EPA:EPED) which gained 2.80% to close at 17.99.
The worst performers were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which was down 17.83% to 8.57 in late trade, Euroapi SAS (EPA:EAPI) which lost 5.11% to settle at 15.64 and Solutions 30 SE (EPA:S30) which was down 4.59% to 3.38 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 284 to 270 and 86 ended unchanged.
Shares in Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) fell to 52-week lows; down 17.83% or 1.86 to 8.57.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was down 0.63% or 10.85 to $1,716.55 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September rose 1.58% or 1.50 to hit $96.20 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.42% or 1.40 to trade at $99.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.11% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 106.36.
