France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.27%
Budrigannews.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.27%, while the SBF 120 index climbed 0.24%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP), which rose 5.05% or 2.38 points to trade at 49.50 at the close. Meanwhile, Eurofins Scientific SE (EPA:EUFI) added 3.12% or 2.48 points to end at 82.02 and Teleperformance SE (EPA:TEPRF) was up 2.48% or 8.00 points to 331.20 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were TotalEnergies SE (EPA:TTEF), which fell 2.67% or 1.32 points to trade at 47.88 at the close. WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW) declined 1.79% or 0.89 points to end at 48.96 and Renault SA (EPA:RENA) was down 1.49% or 0.38 points to 25.48.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were Sartorius Stedim Biotech SA (EPA:STDM) which rose 8.27% to 368.00, Publicis Groupe SA (EPA:PUBP) which was up 5.05% to settle at 49.50 and Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) which gained 4.08% to close at 48.50.
The worst performers were SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) which was down 10.18% to 83.80 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 5.57% to settle at 10.94 and Vallourec (EPA:VLLP) which was down 4.48% to 8.58 at the close.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 275 to 267 and 97 ended unchanged.
Shares in SEB SA (EPA:SEBF) fell to 5-year lows; losing 10.18% or 9.50 to 83.80. Shares in Ipsos (EPA:ISOS) rose to all time highs; gaining 4.08% or 1.90 to 48.50.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.59% or 9.95 to $1,710.15 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 2.69% or 2.69 to hit $97.19 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 2.03% or 2.17 to trade at $104.75 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.05% to 1.02, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.21% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.05% at 106.90.
