France stocks higher at close of trade; CAC 40 up 0.07%
Investing.com – France stocks were higher after the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Basic Materials sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 gained 0.07%, while the SBF 120 index gained 0.07%.
The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were WFD Unibail Rodamco NV (AS:URW), which rose 1.51% or 1.05 points to trade at 70.78 at the close. Meanwhile, Engie SA (EPA:ENGIE) added 1.43% or 0.16 points to end at 11.61 and Alstom SA (EPA:ALSO) was up 1.25% or 0.26 points to 20.98 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Pernod Ricard SA (EPA:PERP), which fell 2.49% or 4.90 points to trade at 192.25 at the close. Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) declined 1.84% or 0.65 points to end at 34.61 and Danone SA (EPA:DANO) was down 1.08% or 0.56 points to 51.37.
The top performers on the SBF 120 were CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) which rose 4.53% to 1.11, Biomerieux SA (EPA:BIOX) which was up 3.43% to settle at 96.40 and Electricite de France SA (EPA:EDF) which gained 2.35% to close at 8.53.
The worst performers were Remy Cointreau (EPA:RCOP) which was down 4.40% to 182.70 in late trade, Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which lost 4.05% to settle at 21.07 and Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) which was down 3.94% to 37.77 at the close.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 278 to 269 and 82 ended unchanged.
Shares in Worldline SA (EPA:WLN) fell to 3-years lows; down 1.84% or 0.65 to 34.61. Shares in CGG SA (EPA:GEPH) rose to 52-week highs; up 4.53% or 0.05 to 1.11. Shares in Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) fell to 5-year lows; falling 4.05% or 0.89 to 21.07. Shares in Ubisoft Entertainment (EPA:UBIP) fell to 5-year lows; losing 3.94% or 1.55 to 37.77.
The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.
Gold Futures for June delivery was up 0.18% or 3.60 to $1,979.70 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in May rose 2.44% or 2.45 to hit $103.05 a barrel, while the June Brent oil contract rose 2.80% or 2.93 to trade at $107.57 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.53% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.17% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 99.92.
