France limits unemployment benefits
Budrigannews.com – The French government plans to limit disability payments if the level of disability exceeds 9 people, according to a plan presented on Monday aimed at eliminating the problem of staff shortages, which, according to companies, keep businesses.
Unemployment fell to a minimum of 14 years to 7.3 in the third quarter, but the number of unemployed is still 2.3 million people, although most enterprises are trying to find suitable staff.
Prime Minister Emmanuel Macron wants to strengthen incentives for people to look for work, regulate benefits based on the strength of the labor market.
She plans to reduce benefits for the unemployed by a quarter during the growth of the labor market, which is considered a case of unemployment of less than 9 people, except for port workers and sailors.
Prime Minister Olivier Dussopt noted that the reform was not only aimed at saving money, although according to the estimates of the UK Unemployment Fund, it will save 4 billion euros, 1 billion dollars annually.
“This reform is aimed at one task – full employment, a reaction to the difficulties in the work of recruitment companies,” Dusoft told reporters.
Currently, unemployed people under 53 years of age can receive benefits for 24 months. According to the reform, this period will be reduced to 18 months with an unemployment rate of less than 9 people.
Elderly people who can pay benefits for three years will also see that the period for which they can receive benefits will be reduced by a quarter if their unemployment does not exceed 9 years.
Trade unions support the reform and believe that it will most often hit workers with low qualifications. They believe that companies do not have enough workers, not because they receive unemployment benefits.
