Budrigannews.com – Moldovan woman thought it was love. She had been offered a new life by internet celebrity Andrew Tate. They even discussed getting married. He only asked for one thing: wholehearted fidelity
“You must understand that once you are mine, you will be mine forever,” Tate said to her on February 4, 2013, in one of the dozens of WhatsApp messages cited by Romanian prosecutors who claim he trafficked and sexually exploited multiple women.
The Moldovan woman was urged by Tate, an online influencer with millions of followers, to join him in Romania. On February 9, he reassured her that nothing negative would occur. However, you must support my side.”
Romanian prosecutors claim that the following month, Tate raped the woman twice in the country while attempting to enlist her in a pornography-making operation for the online platform OnlyFans, which allows users to sell explicit videos of themselves.
A court document dated December 30 that was reviewed by Reuters and contained the allegations as well as messages is the most comprehensive description yet of the alleged illegal business Tate, a former world champion in kickboxing, and his brother Tristan are alleged to be running.
They were discovered after the brothers were arrested on charges of forming a criminal gang to sexually exploit women on December 29.
The 36-year-old British-American Andrew Tate and his 34-year-old brother have denied all allegations against them. Andrew Tate has been based primarily in Romania since 2017. They were detained by the police and could not be reached by Reuters for comment.
Their attorney, Eugen Vidineac, stated in response to questions that he was unable to publicly confirm or deny information regarding the case because the investigation was still ongoing. Additionally, the anti-organized crime unit of Romania stated that its prosecutors could not comment on the investigation.
The WhatsApp conversations with the Moldovan women, which appear in Romanian in the court document, were translated by Reuters back into English, their native language. Even though it is accurate, the Romanian translation that prosecutors have provided may not be identical to the original text.
According to the document, the brothers “transformed them into slaves” by bringing six women under their control through deception and intimidation. The 61-page file was created by Bucharest court officials and includes the prosecution’s evidence and minutes of a hearing where a judge extended the Tates’ detention.
According to the court document, Attorney Vidineac stated that the brothers’ alleged victims “lived off the backs of the famous Tates” rather than being mistreated. They were happy, and no one was trying to force them to do these things,” he continued.
In the document, Vidineac acknowledged that the Moldovan woman and Andrew Tate had sex, but he said it was consensual and accused her of fabricating the rape claims.
Reuters was unable to get in touch with the six women named in the document for comment because it was unable to independently verify the version of events provided by the defense attorney or the prosecutors. Unless the alleged victims have chosen to release their names, the news organization typically does not identify them.
On January 11, two of the women stated to Romanian television station Antena3 that the Tates are innocent and that they are not victims. They were only identified by their first names, Beatrice and Iasmina, by the station.
Beatrice stated to the station, “You cannot list me as a victim if I say I am not one.” The Moldovan woman and the other four women have not made any public comments.
The allegations against Tate have drawn a lot of attention to a self-described misogynist who has developed a large online following, especially among young men, by promoting an extravagant, hyper-macho image of driving fast cars and dating beautiful women.
According to Google (NASDAQ:), in 2022, he was the eighth most Googled person in the world, trailing only Johnny Depp, Will Smith, and Vladimir Putin. ‘s evaluation
Prosecutors claim that the Tates controlled the victims’ OnlyFans accounts and earned tens of thousands of euros. This highlights concerns among some human rights organizations regarding the possibility of women being exploited on such platforms.
150 million people use the UK-based OnlyFans and pay “creators” monthly fees for their content, much of it erotic or pornographic, but also music and fitness training.
On its website, the company claims to be “the safest digital media platform,” and its 1.5 million creators have the opportunity to earn anywhere from hundreds of dollars to tens of thousands of dollars per month. It was established in 2016 and experienced rapid expansion during COVID-19 lockdowns.
Reuters was informed by spokesperson Sue Beeby that Andrew Tate “has never had” a creator account or been paid. She said that OnlyFans had been watching him since the beginning of 2022 and had taken “proactive measures” to stop him from posting or making money from content, but she didn’t say why or what the steps were.
She added that the platform, which collaborated closely with law enforcement, reviewed all content and conducted extensive identification checks on creators as a whole. Vidineac declined to discuss the actions that OnlyFans took against Tate.
A slew of divisive remarks have fueled Andrew Tate’s image. He has stated that women bear some responsibility for being raped and compared them to dogs. He was banned from Facebook (NASDAQ:) for his remarks. last year, Instagram and other popular social media platforms.
“Gender-based hate, any threats of sexual violence, or threats to share non-consensual intimate imagery,” according to a Meta spokesperson, Tate was removed from the social media platforms in August 2022.
In 2021, Tate claimed on a podcast that he had started a webcam business in Britain that had reached its peak when 75 women who worked for him earned $600,000 per month. Reuters was unable to independently verify this amount. In the podcast, he did not go into detail about what the women did.
His website offered a course for over $400 that promised to teach “every step to building a girl who is submissive, loyal, and in love with you” up until the month before last.
“THAT’S MY ABILITY. “To extremely effectively win over women’s hearts,” he stated on the website. In January, Reuters reviewed the course-related pages and removed them.
Tate referred to the OnlyFans platform as “the greatest hustle in the world” in a separate YouTube video aimed at men who want to make money by putting women on the platform. It is not clear when the video was originally uploaded, as it has been uploaded multiple times.
Lawyer Vidineac stated in the court document that Tate’s online persona was “nothing to do with the real man” and was a “virtual character” created to gain followers and make money.
In November, one month after billionaire Elon Musk purchased the platform, Tate’s Twitter account was reinstated to demonstrate his innocence to his 4.8 million followers. A post from January 15 stated, “They have arrested me to “look” for evidence… which they will not find because it does not exist.”
The Moldovan woman met Tate for the first time virtually on Instagram in January 2022. The following month, they met in person in London, and by March, she was in Romania, according to the court document, which includes WhatsApp exchanges from February 4 to April 8.
On April 11, police raided one of the brothers’ Bucharest properties on suspicion that an American woman was being held there against her will.
Prosecutors claim that the American woman, one of the six alleged victims, met Tristan Tate online in November 2021 and in person the following month in Miami. They claimed that he enticed her to Romania by promising to have “false feelings” for her, paying for her plane ticket, and assisting her in earning “100K a month” on OnlyFans.
In a Rolls-Royce, Tristan Tate drove her to the Bucharest airport. according to the court document, on April 5, 2022, and brought her back to his house, where two armed guards were present.
It added that he informed her that she was not a prisoner but that the guards wouldn’t let her out without his permission. He stated that she would be in danger if she left “because he had enemies.”
According to the document, prosecutors stated that Tristan Tate remotely monitored the house’s cameras. They claimed that he once sent the American a message stating that he could see where she was and what she was doing.
According to the prosecutors, she was “very afraid” of the brothers and was only allowed outside when accompanied by other women when she moved to another house with four of Andrew Tate’s “girlfriends.”
Tate’s attorney stated in the document that the American woman had internet access, a mobile phone, and the freedom to leave the house whenever she wanted.
The woman has not discussed the Tates or the allegations made by the prosecutors in public.
On January 15, Romanian prosecutors announced that they had seized almost $4 million worth of assets, including a fleet of luxury cars, from Andrew Tate’s compound on the outskirts of Bucharest as part of their investigation into the suspects.
The Tates and two Romanian women who are accused of working for them will remain in detention until February 27. A court rejected their appeal against that detention on Wednesday. While the investigation is ongoing, a judge can order their detention for up to 180 days, which means it could last until the end of June.
Prosecutors stated that the alleged accomplices, Georgiana Naghel and Luana Radu, controlled the OnlyFans and TikTok accounts of the six victims on behalf of the Tates. They also fined the women for being late or sniffling on camera.
According to the court document, the pair threatened to beat the women if they did not perform their duties.
All of the charges leveled against Naghel and Radu have been refuted. Both Radu’s attorney and Vidineac, who also represents Naghel, stated that they could not comment on the case.
According to prosecutors, the Tates operation employed women on TikTok to drive traffic to OnlyFans due to the site’s lucrative subscriptions.
In a statement, TikTok stated that Andrew Tate had been removed from its platform and that it had been investigating related videos and accounts for violating its policy against “sexually exploitative content.”
