Fed has expanded composition of management of banks
By Kristina Sobol
Budrigannews.com – On Tuesday, the Federal Reserve announced a group of regional Fed bank board chairs and deputy chairs who, for the second year in a row, are majority women and minorities. This added diversity to the board’s leadership.
A Reuters count based on public disclosures indicates that of the 24 board chairs and vice chairs, 13 are women and 14 are Black, Hispanic, or other non-white individuals.
13 of the group members were women and 13 were people of color the previous year.
In a statement announcing the new lineup, the Fed stated, “The Board continues to focus on increasing the diversity of Reserve Bank boards of directors so their composition better reflects the communities they serve.”
