Democrats losing seats to Republicans in House of Representatives
By Kristina Sobol
Budrigannews.com – Edison Research predicted on Tuesday that Republicans would win a net four seats in the United States House of Representatives that had previously been held by Democrats. Of the 435 races, 228 have not yet been called.
Edison Research is tracking the net number of seats that change hands between parties in House races rather than the net gain or loss of seats overall for either party.
The number of flips does not account for the seven new seats that were added as a result of redistricting in Congress and the two races in which an incumbent Democrat and an incumbent Republican are competing against each other.
Edison predicted that Republicans would win 132 of the 435 seats in the House, while Democrats would win 75.
