Expulsion abroad to the US during COVID was illegal-Judge

Budrigannews.com – A US judge ruled on Tuesday that the pandemic-era order used to deport hundreds of thousands of immigrants to Mexico was illegal, a ruling that could lead to a ban on US border controls.

US District Court Judge Emmett Sullivan said in a 49-page opinion that the policy was “arbitrary and capricious” and violated federal regulatory laws.

This decision will complicate President Biden’s strategy to prevent record-breaking. On Tuesday night, the government filed an unopposed motion to postpone the implementation of the decision for 5 weeks, allowing it to transfer additional resources to the border and coordinate with state and local governments and non-profit organizations.

The order has been widely used to deport Central Americans and Mexicans, but last month the government announced that it would send back to Mexico all Venezuelans arrested at the U.S.-Mexico border. Officials said that the new approach of Venezuelans has led to a significant reduction in the number of arrivals from South American countries.

Sullivan’s decision came just three days after U.S. border official Chris Magnus (Chris Magnus) resigned under pressure. Facing hostile questions from Congressional Republicans on Tuesday, U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security Alejandro Mayorkas touted Biden’s results on border control, saying that the government “expelled or expelled more than ever before.”””

This case is the demand for 2020-2020-3MCOVID flow to customers. Biden continued this campaign after taking office, expelling about 2 million immigrants, many of whom were repeat immigrants.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) issued the order, but later, under Biden’s leadership, said it was no longer necessary to stop the spread of COVID. But a federal judge in Louisiana ruled on May 5 that the Biden administration could not end it.

Lee Grand (Lee Gerland), an American Civil Liberties Union lawyer representing the expelled families, said that the Louisiana judge’s decision is now controversial and ending the expulsion order “will literally save lives.”””

The U.S. Department of Homeland Security said it will continue to fully enforce immigration laws at the border.

“Double-edged sword”

) (Shorthand is shorthand.Sullivan, a Washington appointee of former President Bill Clinton, wrote that the policy violated a federal law known as the Administrative Procedure Act.

“It is absurd to assume that the consequences of the measures decided by the CDC can be ignored,” Sullivan said, especially since these measures include a special decision to suspend the codification procedures and implementation of non-citizens seeking asylum.”

Sullivan wrote that the authorities knew that the implementation of the order “may result in the expulsion of immigrants to places where they are “highly likely” to be “persecuted, tortured, violently attacked or raped.”

Opposition member of Parliament Rosa Maria Gonzalez (Rosa Maria Gonzalez), who is in charge of the transitional committee of the lower house of the Mexican Congress, said that this decision may be a double-edged sword for Mexico.

He said this should ease the pressure on Mexico’s northern border by reducing the backlog of people under the expulsion order, but it may also encourage more people to travel north and apply for asylum in the United States.
