Budrigannews.com – The Mercedes-Benz announced a partnership with experts in electric vehicle charging, such as ChargePoint Holdings Inc. (NYSE:) to carry out plans to establish a global network of high-power charging stations in China, Europe, North America, and other important markets.
The network will be built this year in the United States and Canada, then in other parts of the world. The goal is to have the whole network up and running by the end of the decade, when Mercedes-Benz plans to go all-electric wherever the market will allow. The Mercedes-Benz charging stations will be in major cities and urban centers, close to major roads and convenient retail and service locations, including dealerships that are participating.
Mercedes-Benz claims that customers will be able to reserve a charging station in advance from their automobile. However, in order to speed up the adoption of electric vehicles, the network will be accessible to all brands.
