EU plans reforms in energy sector
Budrigannews.com – The European Commission at the end of March this year will make a proposal on the reorganization of the electric market of the European Union, the head of the energy policy of the bloc said on Wednesday.
“As far as I know, by the end of March we will present the electricity market as a legislative proposal,” European Commissioner for Energy Supply Kadri Simson said at the Brussels event “Politico”.
The EU has stated that they want to review their electricity markets in order to loosen the link with gas and electricity prices, after a sharp rise in gas prices this year led to an increase in energy costs for European consumers and businesses.
Simpson said that this year there will be a consultation on the plans of EU ministers and interested parties.
