Donald Trump will face criminal charges
Budrigannews.com – The Jan. 6 select House board of trustees casted a ballot Monday to allude previous President Donald Trump to the Branch of Equity for potential lawbreaker allegations connected with his endeavors to upset the 2020 political race.
The House Select Committee, which was charged with looking into the attack on the U.S. Capitol on January 6th, came to the conclusion that there was “more than enough evidence” to charge Trump with “aiding and assisting those at the Capitol who engaged in a violent attack on the United States.”
Four recommendations served as the foundation for the slew of criminal referrals made by the committee: claiming that Trump obstructed an official proceeding, participated in a scheme to defraud the government, provided the federal government with statements that were materially false, and aided or incited an uprising.
According to U.S. legislation, Trump could be prohibited from holding office again if he is found guilty of insurrection.
According to Section 3 of the 14th Amendment, a person who has previously taken an oath cannot “hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any State” if they “engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.”
A criminal referral is merely a committee’s recommendation to conduct an investigation. However, the Department of Justice is not required to file criminal charges.

In light of his appointment as special counsel for the Department of Justice (DoJ) in November, Jack Smith will now decide how the Justice Department will implement the committee’s recommendations.
