Budrigannews.com – After a fatal crash in Washington state in September that claimed the lives of ten people, the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) announced late on Wednesday that it would require DHC-3 operators to conduct inspections as soon as possible.

Last week, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) of the United States issued an “urgent safety recommendation” requesting “immediate action” from Transport Canada and the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to mandate seaplane inspections.

To ensure that a lock ring is present and has been installed correctly, the FAA is mandating visual inspections of a stabilizer component. The inspections must be completed by the 63 US aircraft operators within ten hours of Wednesday’s directive.
