Denver Airport CEO Phil Washington Resigns over Biden
By Tiffany Smith
Budrigannews.com – Monday, the candidate for the position of head of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) that President Joe Biden had been considering withdrew from consideration, stating that he did not see a way forward for obtaining approval.
Phil Washington, CEO of Denver International Airport, said in a statement on Monday that he had written to Biden on Friday to withdraw. I no longer perceived a viable, respectful, and civil route to Senate confirmation. Washington stated, “I faced procedural obstruction with regard to my military career, as well as cheap and unfounded partisan attacks that would have further extended the confirmation process that was already delayed.”
Washington’s lack of aviation experience was the reason Republicans in the Senate claimed that he was unfit to serve. Liberals had to drop an arranged board of trustees vote on his affirmation last week after certain leftists had extra inquiries concerning his designation.
