Democrats attacked Tucker Carlson after publication of revelatory materials about attack on Capitol on Jan 6

Budrigannews.com – In an extraordinary rebuke of the late-night commentator who has been airing depictions of the January 6, 2021, attack this week, the White House lashed out at Fox News host Tucker Carlson on Wednesday.
In order to portray the pro-Trump mob as peaceful patriots, Republican House Speaker Kevin McCarthy gave Carlson access to approximately 40,000 hours of security camera footage from the US Capitol. Carlson made a false claim that the footage provided “conclusive” proof that Democrats and the House select committee that looked into January 6 lied to Americans about what happened that day.
The Justice Department claims that 140 officers, including 60 Metropolitan Police officers and 80 US Capitol Police officers, were assaulted that day at the Capitol.
This week, the Capitol Police, Democratic lawmakers, and some Republicans slammed the host of Fox News. Andrew Bates, the spokesperson for the White House, added to the condemnation on Wednesday.
Bates stated, “We agree with the chief of the Capitol Police and the wide range of bipartisan lawmakers who have condemned this false depiction of the unprecedented, violent attack on our Constitution and the rule of law – which cost police officers their lives.”
“We agree with the chief of the Capitol Police.” Additionally, we concur with what Fox News’ own lawyers and executives have repeatedly emphasized in a number of courts: that Tucker Carlson can’t be trusted.
Fox News’ attorneys successfully argued that Carlson engages in rhetorical hyperbole and opinion on a consistent basis when defending himself against a 2020 libel lawsuit.
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre referred to January 6, 2021, as “a very dark day and attack on our democracy” during her daily news conference with reporters on Wednesday.
Jean-Pierre stated, “It’s just shameful to have said what he said when we saw Capitol Police officers lose their lives or police officers lose their lives.”
In spite of the fact that Carlson asserted he had State house Police audit film prior to broadcasting it, different sources on Legislative hall Slope told CNN that Carlson’s show gave just a single clasp to survey and not the others. The Capitol Police have consistently issued warnings that the release of all Capitol security footage could present a security risk to the building.
Chief Tom Manger of the US Capitol Police said on Tuesday that Carlson chose favorable clips to mislead his audience about the attack. Carlson’s depictions of the events were deemed “offensive” by Manger.
In an internal memo that CNN was able to obtain from the department, Manger wrote, “The program conveniently cherry-picked from the calmer moments of our 41,000 hours of video.” The commentary provides no context for the disorder and violence that occurred prior to or during these less tense times.
Manger added that the police department was not contacted by Carlson’s show “to provide accurate context.”
As part of Dominion Voting Systems’ $1.6 billion lawsuit against Fox, several damning documents about Carlson were made public. These documents appeared to show that Carlson disagrees with what he says to his audience. A series of private text messages in which Carlson stated that he hates former President Donald Trump “passionately” were included in the defamation case’s court filings.
Carlson referred to Trump’s post-election behavior as “disgusting” in a conversation in November 2020. Additionally, Carlson stated in a subsequent text message exchange two days prior to the January 6 attack, “We are very, very close to being able to ignore Trump most nights.” I can’t wait at all. He continued: I detest him with all my heart.
