Damar Hamlin’s condition is improving-Doctor
Budrigannews.com – The safety suffered cardiac arrest on the field during a Monday night NFL game in Cincinnati. The Buffalo Bills reported on Thursday that Damar Hamlin had shown “remarkable improvement” over the previous 24 hours, but that he remains critically ill.
“Damar has shown remarkable improvement over the past 24 hours, according to the physicians caring for Damar Hamlin at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center,” the Bills stated on their official Twitter account. He has demonstrated that he appears to be neurologically sound, even though he is still in critical condition.
The team stated, “His lungs continue to heal and he is making steady progress.”
Hamlin fell to the ground after making a tackle in the first quarter of the Bills’ final regular-season game against the Bengals.
Hamlin was taken to the University of Cincinnati Medical Center, where he has been in the intensive care unit ever since his heartbeat was reestablished on the field.
Later, the match, which Cincinnati led 7-3, was put off.
The good news will be welcome news for the Bills, who are getting ready for their final game of the regular season on Sunday. It will also be welcome news for sports fans all over the United States and the world, who have backed the 24-year-old safety.
The Buffalo Bills stated that they would be practicing on Thursday and that they would make some of their players and head coach Sean McDermott available for interviews with media at 4:30 p.m. ET (2130 GMT).
Hamlin has received prayers and support from politicians, athletes, celebrities, and others, including U.S. President Joe Biden.
In response to Hamlin’s medical update on Thursday, Biden tweeted, “Great news.” Damar, as I told your parents yesterday, Jill and I, as well as the entire United States, are praying for you and your family.
As a gesture of support for Hamlin, the team, and the nearby city of Buffalo, famed Niagara Falls—the American Falls as well as the Canadian Horseshoe Falls—were illuminated in Bills blue on Tuesday.
The NFL has not yet decided whether to extend the Bengals vs. Bills game.
The Bills and Bengals, who are competing with the Kansas City Chiefs for the top seed in the American Football Conference and a bye to the first round of the playoffs, would be affected by the postponed game.
On Sunday, the Buffalo Bills will play host to the New England Patriots at 1 p.m. ET (1700 GMT).
