Currie is new Chief Operating Officer of Barclays
Budrigannews.com – Barclays said it has named Alistair Currie as its head working official on Wednesday, as President C.S. Venkatakrishnan reshuffled the positions of his chief council.
Mark Ashton-Rigby will step down and be replaced by Currie, who will continue to advise the bank part-time.
Vim Maru, formerly of Lloyds Banking Group (LON:), will succeed Currie as head of the lender’s consumer banking and payments division.
Barclays (LON:))’s changes come at a time when chief council of ranking directors has taken on expanded conspicuousness in the running of the bank, while Venkatakrishnan is treated for malignant growth.
The CEO of the British bank, who goes by the name Venkat, said last month that while he will be treated for non-Hodgkin lymphoma for 12 to 16 weeks, his prognosis is good.
In addition, Currie, the bank’s new chief operating officer, will be in charge of BX, the firm-wide company that provides technology and other support services to all business units.
