Consumer sentiment gives a positive signal in US
Budrigannews.com – U.S. purchaser feeling worked on in December in the midst of late gains on the financial exchange, while expansion assumptions facilitated to a 15-month low, a review displayed on Friday.
The preliminary December reading of the overall consumer sentiment index from the University of Michigan came in at 59.1, up from 56.8 the month before. Reuters polled economists and predicted a preliminary reading of 56.9.
The survey’s reading of one-year inflation expectations dropped from 4.9% in November to 4.6% in December, the lowest reading in 15 months. In November, its five-year inflation outlook remained unchanged at 3.0%.
