Computer problems led to malfunction of Florida airspace
Budrigannews.com – On Monday, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said that it was working to fix a problem with an air traffic control system and had reduced the number of flights over Florida.
A spokesperson for the U.S. regulator, who did not provide any additional information, stated that the issue hindered a system that controls air traffic and is referred to as the En Route Automation Modernization (ERAM).
The issue surfaced following the crippling of Southwest Airlines (NYSE:), a low-cost airline, by a significant winter storm during the Christmas holiday season.
