Budrigannews.com – The long-awaited “China House” unit, an internal reorganization to assist in expanding and sharpening its policymaking toward its primary geopolitical rival, was launched on Friday by the U.S. State Department.

In May, Blinken stated, “The scale and the scope of the challenge posed by the People’s Republic of China will test American diplomacy like nothing we’ve seen before.” On Friday, he presided over the official opening of the unit, which is officially called the Office of China Coordination. A department statement said that Blinken noted that the unit would ensure that the United States is able to “responsibly manage” competition with Beijing.
According to the statement, Blinken said that China experts from across the department would gather at China House to work together with “every regional bureau and experts in international security, economics, technology, multilateral diplomacy, and strategic communications.”
It will take over for the department’s China Desk, but Rick Waters (NYSE:) will still be in charge of it. an official claims to be the deputy assistant secretary of state in charge of China, Taiwan, and Mongolia in the Bureau of East Asia and Pacific Affairs.
