Cardano (ADA) has recently reached a major milestone in the development of its June Hardfork Combinator Event (HFC).
The director of Cardano architecture at IOG, John Woods, revealed that all of the new features that will be introduced in the upgrade are now officially “code complete.” Woods also explained that all of these new features can now be found on the blockchain’s GitHub repository.
Although this is a major milestone in the project, there is still much more to be done. The next stage will see developers carrying out strict quality assurance checks for the next couple of months.
Integration testing will commence when the developers are satisfied when the system has been rid of bugs, regressions, or performance slowdowns. Woods estimated that after all of these steps are taken, the HFC event will take place on 29 June.
The new features that the upgrade will bring are a big deal for Cardano. One of these features will enhance block diffusion to allow the blockchain to scale further to the point where the network ushers in input endorsers.
Another one of the features will enhance Cardano Improvement Proposal (CIP) 31, 32, and 33. The feature will also introduce reference scripts, inline datum, and reference inputs. The upgrade will also drastically improve the developer experience for projects built on Cardano.
Cardano’s ecosystem continues to grow, and several exchanges and partners are getting ready to show their support as the upgrade draws near.
Unfortunately, ADA’s price has not seen much change, even with the positive news for the ADA community. ADA is currently trading at $0.83, and its price saw a 9,63% drop over the last seven days.
