Canadian TC Energy blocked Keystone pipeline due to an oil leak
Budrugannews.com – TC Energy, from Canada (NYSE:) Thursday, the company stated that it was responding to an oil leak into a creek 20 miles south of Steele City, Nebraska, and had shut down the 622,000 barrel-per-day Keystone pipeline.
The company stated in a press release that an emergency shutdown and response was initiated on December 7 at approximately 8 p.m. CT following alarms and a pressure drop in the system. Booms were also deployed to control the release’s downstream migration.

“The framework stays shut down as our teams effectively answer and attempt to contain and recuperate the oil,” the delivery said.
Concerning the release’s volume, the company was unable to be reached immediately.
Keystone is a crucial component of Canada’s oil export network and transports Canadian crude from Alberta to the Midwest and Gulf Coast of the United States.
The company made the announcement on November 15 that, in response to some severe weather-related incidents, it would reduce pipeline volumes without specifying the size or duration of the curbs.
