Budrigannews.com – Roman Shimonov, the company’s chief executive officer, said on Thursday that a Canadian company that supplies battle-ready armoured vehicles to Ukraine intends to deliver the 200 vehicles that Ottawa promised Kyiv before summer.
On Wednesday, Canadian Defence Minister Anita Anand paid a visit to Kiev to meet with officials from Ukraine. While there, she made the announcement that Ukraine would receive 200 Senator armoured personnel carriers as part of its most recent package of military assistance.
The National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) and the U.S. State Department are among the government and commercial organizations that Roshel Inc., based in Ontario, builds armored vehicles for.
Ukrainian soldiers have been defending themselves against the Russian invasion that began in February using its Roshel Senator armoured personnel carriers, which are built with ballistic steel on a Ford Motor Company (F.N.) F-550 large pickup truck chassis and equipped with mine-protection seats and other safety features.
After Canada’s defense minister announced the supply of 200 Senator armored personnel carriers to Ukraine as part of a new package of military assistance on January 19, 2023, in Mississauga, Ontario, Canada, an employee works on the Senator APC at vehicle manufacturer Roshel. “Ukraine right now is in full-scale war… and they have to have a way to transport their personnel safely, and our vehicle provides them with this solution,” Shimonov stated. He stated that the Senators can be utilized as a tactical combat vehicle or as a vehicle for medical evacuation.
In an interview conducted at Roshel’s assembly plant in Mississauga, Shimonov stated that the company has established a “sophisticated” secure supply chain and has been shipping a few armored vehicles on a daily basis.
Over C$1 billion in military supplies and billions of dollars in aid from Canada have been given to Ukraine. However, Shimonov stated that Ottawa’s order for 200 armored vehicles for Ukraine is anticipated to be fulfilled by summer.
