Brazil’s formal job creation falls short of expectations in October

BRASILIA (Reuters) – Brazil created a net 132,714 formal jobs in October, data from the labor ministry showed on Wednesday, below the 200,000 forecast in a Reuters poll of economists.
The figure accounts for 2,222,962 new jobs and 2,090,248 jobs closed.
October marked the lowest net result for a month since December, when Brazil closed some 451,000 jobs, according to adjusted data.
From January to October, a net 2,117,473 jobs were created, up from 1,784,662 in the year-ago period.
