Biodiesel B35 is now in Indonesia
Budrigannews.com – A senior minister said on Tuesday that the president of Indonesia has asked the government to come up with a way to make sure B35 biodiesel is used everywhere next year.
B35 is a fuel with 35% fuel made from palm oil.
Indonesia, the largest palm oil producer in the world, requires biodiesel to contain 30 percent palm oil fuel, or B30.
According to Chief Economics Minister Airlangga Hartarto, “it will reduce our dependence on (oil) imports with the implementation of B35.”
He did not provide any additional information or a timetable for the implementation of B35 plans.
The largest economy in Southeast Asia is finishing up tests on B40, a biodiesel fuel made with 40% palm oil.
Airlangga also said after a cabinet meeting that the government expects headline inflation to be between 5.34 and 5.5 percent by the end of 2022.
From 5.71 percent in October, Indonesia’s annual headline inflation decreased to 5.42 percent last month.
According to Airlangga’s statement, “We will monitor the global geopolitical environment, extreme weather, and the scarring effects on inflation.”
