Biden’s house found new secret documents

Budrigannews.com – A statement issued by the president’s legal counsel on Saturday night stated that the United States Justice Department conducted a new search of President Joe Biden’s residence in Wilmington, Delaware, on Friday and discovered six additional items, including documents bearing classification markings.
According to Biden’s attorney, Bob Bauer, some of the classified documents and “surrounding materials” date back to his time serving in the United States Senate, where he represented Delaware from 1973 to 2009. Bauer stated that additional documents were from his time as vice president under Obama from 2009 to 2017.
According to the lawyer, during the more than 12-hour search, the Department of Justice also took some notes that Biden had personally written as vice president.
“To allow DOJ to conduct a search of the entire premises for potential vice-presidential records and potential classified material,” Bauer stated, the president granted access “to his home.”
According to the attorney, neither Biden nor his wife were present during the search. For the weekend, Biden is in Delaware’s Rehoboth Beach.
According to Bauer, the search was coordinated in advance by investigators from the Justice Department and Biden’s lawyers, and the president’s personal and White House lawyers were present at the time.
Biden’s Wilmington home this month also contained classified government documents, as did a private office he maintained in Washington, D.C., in November after he left his position as vice president under President Obama in 2017.
In his statement on Saturday, Bauer did not specify where the documents were discovered in the Wilmington residence. The previous classified documents were discovered in a nearby storage space and the garage of the house.
According to the search, federal investigators are quickly moving forward with their investigation into the classified documents that Biden had in his possession. A special counsel was appointed by U.S. Attorney General Merrick Garland this month to investigate the situation.
During the process, special counsel Robert Hur was appointed. He is looking into how the president and his team handled classified documents from the Obama administration that were recently found in Biden’s private possession.
According to the White House, Biden’s lawyers discovered all of the documents discovered prior to the DOJ search on Friday. According to information that has been made available to the public, the most recent search was the first time that federal law enforcement authorities have looked for government documents at Biden’s private addresses.
The investigation has been compared by Republicans to the ongoing investigation into how former President Donald Trump handled classified documents during his administration. The White House has noted that Biden’s team has provided those documents and cooperated with authorities in their investigation. Trump put off doing so until his Florida resort was searched by the FBI in August.
The president has insisted that the previous discovery of classified material at his home and former office would eventually be deemed inconsequential. The search raises the political and legal stakes for the president.
On Thursday, Biden stated that he has “no regrets” not disclosing the discovery of classified documents at his former office before the midterm elections and that he believes the issue will be resolved.
During a Thursday trip to California, Biden told reporters, “There is no there, there.”
Trump has complained that his successor was being treated differently by Justice Department investigators ever since the documents pertaining to Biden were discovered.
“When will the FBI conduct a search of Joe Biden’s numerous residences, possibly even the White House?” Trump stated in a recent social media post.
