Budrigannews.com – Two people who are familiar with the discussions said on Wednesday that President Joe Biden plans to give a speech as early as Thursday that will be his most comprehensive yet regarding a high-altitude Chinese balloon and three other objects that were shot down by U.S. fighter jets.
The sources, who requested anonymity, stated that the speech was anticipated to take place on Thursday. Biden is scheduled to undergo a physical examination at Walter Reed Hospital in the morning, although the timing was not clear.
Legislators have pressed Biden to talk more about the recent rash of flyovers caused by unknown objects, which have perplexed many Americans.
He has left it up to White House officials to talk about the situation, making few public comments about it.
While Beijing referred to the Chinese balloon as a weather balloon, the United States claimed that it was used for surveillance.
Since the 200-foot Chinese balloon was shot down on Feb. 4 by an American fighter jet, three other objects have been shot down over hard-to-reach areas. Two of them were in the frozen North, and one of them fell into Lake Huron with its debris.
NYSE: John Kirby, On Tuesday, the spokesperson for national security at the White House said that the intelligence community of the United States is looking into the possibility that the three items were used for a commercial or other benign purpose.
He stated that the United States of America lacked a firm understanding of the three objects’ origins.
Jake Sullivan, Biden’s national security adviser, has been asked to lead a task force of related agencies to develop guidelines for dealing with unidentified objects in the future.
This week, it is expected to issue guidelines on the circumstances that should be taken into consideration before shooting down an unidentified object.
A U.S. official who spoke on the condition of anonymity said on Wednesday that U.S. officials believe the Chinese balloon that was shot down after crossing the continental United States originally had a trajectory that would have taken it over Guam and Hawaii, but that it was blown off course.
