The visit was announced at a press conference by Lopez Obrador’s administration, which is attempting to resolve a significant disagreement with the United States and Canada regarding Mexican energy policy.
Although he also mentioned earlier dates, the Mexican leader suggested that the visit take place on the 9th and 10th of January.
According to Lopez Obrador, his meeting with Biden would likely be followed by a meeting with Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and a meeting between the three leaders.
