Budrigannews.com – An FAA system outage that grounded flights across the country on Wednesday morning has been referred to an investigation by President Joe Biden, who stated that the failure’s cause was unknown.
Biden told White House reporters that he had spoken with Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg and that they should know in a few hours what caused the outage.
Biden stated, “We’ll respond at that time.” He responded, “We don’t know,” when asked if the outage was caused by a cyberattack.
Biden stated, “They don’t know what the cause is.” Aircraft can still safely land, but they cannot currently take off. We have no idea what caused it.”
In a previous tweet, White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre stated that there was no evidence of a cyberattack at this time.
On Wednesday, U.S. flights were either grounded or delayed while the FAA attempted to resolve a system outage. Passengers were advised to check with their airlines for updates.
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) stated that it had instructed airlines to delay all domestic departures until 9 a.m. Eastern Time (ET) (1400 GMT) so that the agency could verify the accuracy of flight and safety information.
