Bank of Japan to continue ultralight policy-official
By Kristina Sobol
Budrigannews.com – Kazuo Ueda, the governor of the Bank of Japan, stated on Tuesday that the central bank will patiently maintain its ultra-loose monetary policy because it is still a ways off reaching its 2% inflation target.
Ueda stated to the parliament, “We expect inflation to quite clearly slow below 2%” toward the middle of the current fiscal year.
He went on to say, “Inflation is likely to rebound thereafter… though there is high uncertainty” regarding the outlook.
