Bacteria become resistant to drugs-WHO
Budrigannews.com – A World Health Organization report based on data from 87 countries in 2020 found that in the first year of the pandemic, bacteria that frequently cause bloodstream infections in hospitals developed high levels of drug resistance.

Microbes have become resistant to many treatments as a result of prolonged overuse and/or misuse of existing treatments, particularly antibiotics, while there is a limited pipeline of replacement therapies in development.
In the WHO report, bacteria like Klebsiella pneumoniae and Acinetobacter spp., which typically result in life-threatening bloodstream infections in hospitals, were found to have levels of resistance greater than 50%.
