At least 15 Palestinians killed in Israeli strike on central Gaza, WAFA agency says

CAIRO (Reuters) -At least 15 Palestinians were killed and dozens wounded in an Israeli strike on the town of Zawayda in central Gaza, the official Palestinian news agency WAFA reported on Saturday.

The Israeli military is aware of reports of 15 people killed in a Gaza airstrike and is looking into them, a spokesperson said.

The 10-month-old Israel-Hamas war was triggered on Oct. 7 when Hamas attacked Israel, killing 1,200 people and taking about 250 hostages, according to Israeli tallies.

Israel’s subsequent military campaign has killed more than 40,000 Palestinians, according to Gaza health authorities.
