Argentina asks EU to renegotiate trade agreement-FT
Budrigannews.com – According to the Financial Times, Argentina President Alberto Fernandez has requested that the European Union renegotiate a significant trade agreement with South America. He claims that the agreement is unbalanced and poses a threat to the car industry in Brazil and Argentina.
Fernandez was quoted as saying at the Financial Times’ Global Boardroom conference, “What we have to do is sit down and look at how we can reach an agreement on a more realistic basis,” according to the report.
In response to the rising tide of protectionism, the European Union and Mercosur, a South American bloc, reached an agreement in 2019 on a free trade treaty, concluding two decades of negotiations.
