American missiles in Ukraine not problem for Russia-Moscow

Budrigannews.com – During President Volodymyr Zelenskiy’s visit to Washington, Russia stated that Ukraine’s acquisition of Patriot missiles from the United States would not aid in conflict resolution or prevent Moscow from achieving its objectives.

Even though the Patriot air defense system is widely considered to be sophisticated, President Vladimir Putin called it “quite old” and assured reporters that Moscow would devise a strategy to counter it. He also stated that Russia wants the war in Ukraine to end and that this would necessitate a diplomatic solution.

Putin stated, “Our goal is not to spin the flywheel of military conflict, but rather, to end this war.”

“We will try to put an end to this, and obviously, the sooner the better.”

The United States quickly expressed skepticism regarding these remarks. John Kirby, White House spokesperson (NYSE:) said Putin had “shown totally zero sign that he will arrange” a finish to the conflict.

Kirby told reporters, “Everything he (Putin) is doing on the ground and in the air betrays a man who wants to continue inflicting violence on the Ukrainian people and increase the war.”

After a series of Russian battlefield defeats and retreats that have shifted the momentum of the 10-month war in Ukraine’s favor, Ukraine and its allies suspect a ploy to buy time. Russia has stated that it is open to negotiations on multiple occasions.

Zelenskiy returns from his first overseas trip during the war encouraged by President Joe Biden’s support on Wednesday.

“We are returning from Washington with positive outcomes. “With something that will truly assist,” Zelenskiy stated via Telegram.

As Zelenskiy began his visit, the Biden administration announced an additional $1.85 billion in military assistance for Ukraine, including a Patriot system.

However, the visit leaves many unanswered questions, such as how the war will end, whether Congressional support will continue, and how U.S. military aid might change.

A single Patriot battery, according to American officials, will not alter the course of the war.

Putin has recently said that assents against Russia won’t make it change its situation on Ukraine and Western arms supplies will just haul out the contention.

On Friday, Alexander Novak, Deputy Prime Minister, stated on state television that Russia may reduce its oil output by 5 to 7 percent in the early years of 2023 as it responds to price caps on its crude and oil products by halting sales to the nations that support them.

Kremlin representative Dmitry Peskov expressed organization of the Nationalist framework in Ukraine was not helpful for a settlement.

“Furthermore, this can’t keep the Russian Organization from accomplishing its objectives during the unique military activity”, he said, involving Russia’s expression for a conflict in which a huge number of individuals have been killed.

Zelenskiy stated to the U.S. Congress that the Patriot system was an essential step in the creation of an air shield and that American aid to his country was an investment in democracy.

During the dead of winter, millions of people in Ukraine have been left without power or running water as a result of repeated Russian aerial strikes on its energy infrastructure.

Zelenskiy appealed to support from both parties as Republicans are set to take control of the U.S. House of Representatives from Democrats on Jan. 3. Some Republicans have expressed increasing skepticism regarding the amount of aid sent to Ukraine.

Congress moved closer to approving an additional $44.9 billion in emergency military and economic assistance as part of the larger U.S. government spending bill with a vote scheduled for Friday in the House of Representatives. In addition, $50 billion has already been sent to Ukraine this year.

The White House said on Thursday that the Wagner Group, a private Russian military company, received infantry rockets and missiles from North Korea last month to support Russian forces in Ukraine.

Britain stated that it arrived at the same conclusion and criticized the action. However, Yevgeny Prigozhin, Wagner’s director, dismissed the discussion as “rumors and speculation.”

The official KCNA news agency reported on Friday that the report was denied by the North Korean foreign ministry, which called it “groundless.”

A ministry spokesperson stated in a KCNA-published statement that the United States is “bringing bloodshed and destruction to Ukraine by providing it with various types of lethal weapons.”

A request for clarification was not received from the Russian mission in New York to the United Nations.

On Facebook, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces declared, “Fight for Bakhmut on the battlefield.” on Thursday that Bakhmut and the nearby Avdiivka remained the focus of fighting in the eastern Donetsk region.

According to the Ukrainian military, Russian forces pounded the towns of Kostyantyivka and Maryinka as well as Vodyane and Nevelske close to Avdiivka. Near Bakhmut, they also shelled approximately ten towns. The battlefield accounts could not be verified by Reuters.

Donetsk is one of four regions that Moscow claimed it would annex following so-called referendums in September that Kyiv and the West deemed bogus and illegal.

The frontline in Ukraine is stable, according to Russian Chief of General Staff Valery Gerasimov, who said on Thursday that Moscow’s forces had concentrated on “completing the liberation of the territory of the Donetsk People’s Republic.”
