American Electric Power (NASDAQ:AEP) reported on Wednesday second quarter earnings that beat analysts’ forecasts and revenue that fell short of expectations.

American Electric Power announced earnings per share of $1.21 on revenue of $4.01B. Analysts polled by Investing.com anticipated EPS of $1.17 on revenue of $4.04B.

American Electric Power shares are up 6% from the beginning of the year, still down 9.66% from its 52 week high of $104.81 set on April 6. They are outperforming the Nasdaq 100 which is down 25.85% from the start of the year.

American Electric Power’s report follows an earnings missed by Renew Energy Global on June 15, who reported EPS of $-0.12 on revenue of $232M, compared to forecasts EPS of $0.0849 on revenue of $208.43M.

Azure Power Global had beat expectations on June 15 with first quarter EPS of $0.1771 on revenue of $75.97M, compared to forecast for EPS of $0.1224 on revenue of $71.52M.
