Alec Baldwin can get away with murder

Budrigannews.com – According to charging documents, the charges of involuntary manslaughter against Alec Baldwin have been reduced, lowering the potential sentence the Hollywood star could receive for the homicide that occurred in 2021 on the set of the film “Rust.”
For the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney Mary Carmack-Altwies had charged Baldwin and Hannah Gutierrez-Reed, the film’s set armorer, with two counts of involuntary manslaughter last month. The most serious charge carries a potential prison sentence of five years.
On Friday, Carmack-Altwies amended the charges against Baldwin and Gutierrez-Reed, dropping the firearm enhancement and lowering their potential prison sentences from five years to 18 months.
Heather Brewer, a spokesperson for the New Mexico First Judicial District Attorney, stated in a statement, “In order to avoid further litigious distractions by Mr. Baldwin and his attorneys, the district attorney and the special prosecutor have removed the firearm enhancement to the involuntary manslaughter charges in the death of Halyna Hutchins on the “Rust” film set.”
A request for clarification was not immediately answered by a Baldwin lawyer.
An attorney for Gutierrez-Reed, Jason Bowles, stated, “We applaud the decision of the district attorney to dismiss the firearm enhancement and it was the right call, ethically and on the merits.”
The “30 Stone” entertainer has rejected obligation for the shooting, which happened as a pistol he was practicing with discharged a live round that killed Hutchins. He has stated that he cocked the revolver but never fired it, and it was Gutierrez-Reed and other professionals in the field of weapons to ensure that it was unloaded.
On December 7, Gutierrez-Reed testified before OSHA, the worker safety agency in New Mexico, that if she had had more time to train Baldwin, the shooting might not have happened. When he used the revolver, she said he had “poor form.”
