Activision’s employees form a union
Budrigannews.com – The majority of employees at Activision Blizzard Inc., a video game publisher, ‘s newly acquired studio Proletariat announced on Tuesday that they will join the Communications Workers of America in forming a union.
The Boston-based studio would become the third Activision Blizzard studio to seek unionization as a result of the move.
The 57 employees in the Proletariat unit, which includes animators, designers, engineers, producers, and quality assurance workers, stated that they had applied to the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) for a union representation election.
According to Activision, the petition was received on Wednesday and the company will respond to the NLRB in the coming days.
Activision announced in July that it had Proletariat to boost the “World of Warcraft” online role-playing game’s development pipeline.

Months after the company began negotiating with employees at its Wisconsin unit, the first in the company to unionize, workers who test games at Activision’s Blizzard Albany unit voted to form a union.
