Spain’s annual Inflation is 5.8% in January

Budrigannews.com – Preliminary data from the National Statistics Institute (INE) showed on Monday that consumer prices in Spain increased by 5.8% in January, which was the first increase since July 2022 and was faster than the 5.7% increase in December.
The INE data showed that core inflation, which excludes volatile prices for fresh food and energy, was 7.5% higher year-over-year than it was in December, when it was 7.0%.
Spain’s 12-month European Union-harmonised inflation was 5.8%, higher than the 4.7% forecast by Reuters-interviewed analysts and up from 5.5% in December.
