Mexico metro accident there are dead
Budrigannews.com – Authorities in Mexico City reported that a train collision early on Saturday resulted in at least one fatality and 57 injuries.
City security chief Omar Garcia told Grupo Milenio, a local media outlet, that a young woman was killed in the morning accident.
Later on Saturday, Garcia shared an updated list of the injured, and the city mayor, Claudia Sheinbaum, tweeted that she was at the scene.
Garcia stated earlier that four others who were trapped on a single wagon on Line 3 were rescued and are in good health.
In recent years, a variety of accidents have occurred on the metro. The most serious was when a rail overpass on Line 12 collapsed in May 2021, killing 26 people and injuring more than 60.
One of the factors that contributed to that accident was a lack of maintenance.
