A spokesperson for the North American Aerospace Defense Command, or NORAD, which tracks the yuletide flight deadpanned, “We have to deal with a polar vortex once in a while, but Santa lives year-round in one at the North Pole, so he’s used to this weather.”

An understanding officer answered the children’s calls and reassured them that Santa Claus, also known as Saint Nick or Father Christmas, was in the air and on time to deliver presents to good children and teens from his reindeer-powered sleigh.
According to NORAD’s Wiseman, Santa does not have a formal flight plan, so the military is never entirely sure when or where he will take off. However, the Santa tracker will go live on the NORAD website on Friday at 4 a.m. EST (0900 GMT).
