North Korea continues to launch ballistic missiles
Budrigannews.com – Japan and South Korea reported on Sunday that North Korea launched two ballistic missiles toward the sea off the east coast of the Korean Peninsula.
The two medium-range missiles, according to the Joint Chiefs of Staff (JCS) of South Korea, traveled about 500 kilometers (311 miles).
The missiles appeared to have landed outside of Japan’s exclusive economic zone (EEZ), according to Vice Defense Minister Toshiro Ino, and no damage had been reported.
According to a statement released by South Korea’s JCS, “North Korea’s ballistic missiles were launched at steep angles and landed in the East Sea.”
“The intelligence authorities of South Korea and the United States are conducting a thorough analysis, taking into account recent trends related to North Korea’s missile development,”

The North’s missile launch comes just a few days after it tested a high-thrust solid-fuel engine that, according to experts, would make it possible to launch ballistic missiles faster and more mobilely. The North is trying to develop a new strategic weapon and accelerate its nuclear and missile programs.
The official KCNA news agency reported on Friday that the test, which was conducted on Thursday at North Korea’s Sohae Satellite Launching Ground and was overseen by leader Kim Jong Un, was used to test missile technologies like rocket engines and space launch vehicles.
Despite international bans and sanctions, North Korea has carried out an unprecedented number of missile tests this year, one of which was an ICBM that was capable of reaching the U.S. mainland.
Japan on Friday unveiled its largest military build-up since World War Two with a $320 billion plan that will buy missiles capable of striking China and prepare it for sustained conflict. North Korea tested fired an ICMB that Japanese officials claimed had sufficient range to reach the United States mainland. The missile landed just 200 kilometers (130 miles) off Japan.
