Budrigannews.com – On Wednesday, eight members of a family, including five children, were found shot to death in a home in southwestern Utah. Officials said that the small town of Enoch City was devastated by the tragedy.
According to City Manager Rob Dotson, the bodies of three adults and five minors were discovered when police were called to the residence for a welfare check after the family had not been heard from in a long time.
In a statement, officials stated that there was no public threat and that no suspects were believed to be in hiding.
“We have no idea why this took place. In a video interview that was sent to journalists via email, Dotson stated, “We’re not going to guess.”
Dotson stated in a video interview that was sent to reporters via email that a number of law enforcement agencies are working together on the investigation, which could take several days.
Dotson stated, “This community is feeling pain.” Everybody knows this family. Many of us have gone to school and served in the community and church together with these people.
Dotson stated, “The community is feeling loss, they’re feeling pain, and they have a lot of questions.”
Enoch City is in southwestern Utah and has about 8,000 people living there. It is about 250 miles (400 kilometers) south of Salt Lake City.
