Southwest Airlines Co. (NYSE:) President and Chief Operating Officer (COO) Mike Van de Ven announced plans today to step down from his role as COO at the end of September and from his role as President at the end of December. Van de Ven will become an Executive Advisor for the company at the start of 2023. Bob Jordan, the company’s Chief Executive Officer (CEO), will assume the additional role of President, effective Jan. 1, 2023.
Unilever PLC (NYSE:) made an announcement today, according to which its CEO Alan Jope will retire from the company at the end of next year. The company will begin a formal consideration of both internal and external candidates to replace Jope.
Bank of Nova Scotia (NYSE:) today announced that its President and CEO Brian Porter decided to retire from the company, effective January 31, 2023. Scott Thomson, currently President and CEO of Finning International Inc and a member of the Scotiabank Board since 2016, was appointed as the CEO of the company, effective February 1, 2023. Thomson will initially serve as President, effective December 1, 2022. Porter will become a Strategic Advisor to Thomson from February 1, 2023, to April 30, 2023, in order to support the transition.
Splunk Inc. (NASDAQ:) announced today that its CFO Jason Child has accepted a position at a leading pre-IPO semiconductor company. Child will remain with the company until early November. The company has commenced a search for its next CFO and has established an Office of the CFO, which is comprised of Splunk’s head of FP&A, Chief Accounting Officer, and head of Treasury & Investor Relations, to oversee its financial strategy and execution and ensure continuity during the search.
