Wolfspeed will open factory in Germany for production of chips

Budrigannews.com – Handelsblatt reported on Saturday that Wolfspeed Inc., a power chip manufacturer based in the United States, intends to construct a factory in Germany for more than 2 billion euros, or $2.17 billion.
According to unidentified sources familiar with the project, a minority stake will be held by German automaker ZF.
According to the report, production at the site in the small southwest German state of Saarland should begin in four years.
Saarland’s economics ministry did not respond to a request for comment.
During non-business hours, Wolfspeed did not immediately respond to inquiries for comment. ZF didn’t say anything.
