Russia is preparing response to deadly shelling of Ukraine

Budrigannews.xom – As outrage grew over the killing of dozens of Russian soldiers in one of the deadliest attacks in the Ukraine war, Russian nationalists and some lawmakers have called for punishment for commanders they say ignored dangers.

In a rare disclosure, Russia claimed that four rockets fired from HIMARS launchers made in the United States struck their quarters in Makiivka on New Year’s Eve, killing 63 Russian soldiers. Pro-Russian officials criticized Ukraine’s claim that the number of Russian casualties was in the hundreds.

Despite the fact that commanders were aware that the building was within range of Ukrainian rockets, Russian military bloggers claimed that ammunition storage in the same building as a barracks was to blame for the massive destruction.

In a third consecutive night of air strikes against civilian targets in the capital, Kyiv, and other cities, Ukraine announced on Monday that it had shot down all 39 drones fired by Russia.

President Volodymyr Zelenskiy stated that Russia is planning an extended campaign of attacks using Iranian drones to “exhaust” Ukraine.

According to Ukrainian officials, Russia struck Ukraine-controlled areas of the Donetsk region on Monday, destroying an ice rink in the town of Druzhkivka, the city of Kramatorsk, and the village of Yakovlivka.

According to a military information center in the Donetsk region that is supported by Russia, there were 69 Ukrainian attacks on the region on Monday, including one on Makiivka.

Zelenskiy said Ukraine anticipating 2023’s most memorable tranche of European Association (EU) macrofinancial help in January, in the wake of addressing European Commission boss Ursula von der Leyen.
