The new Tesla model is available to everyone in the USA
Budrigannews.com – Musk announced early on Thursday that everyone in North America now has access to Tesla Inc.’s Full Self-Driving Beta software. This comes as the automaker waits for regulatory approval to allow its vehicles to drive themselves.
Musk posted a tweet stating that “Tesla Full Self-Driving Beta is now available to anyone in North America who requests it from the car screen, assuming you have purchased this option.”
A request for clarification from Tesla was not met.
Musk stated last month that regulatory approval for Tesla’s advanced driver assistant software would not come in 2022.
In order to demonstrate to regulators that the technology is significantly safer than the typical human driver, Musk intends to release an update to Full Self Driving FSD in 2023.
The autonomous parking and changing of lanes capabilities of the Silicon Valley automaker’s vehicles are made possible by the $15,000 FSD software upgrade.That adds to its standard “Autopilot” feature, which lets cars steer, accelerate, and brake in their lanes without the driver’s input.
According to Reuters in October, the U.S. Department of Justice is also looking into claims that Tesla’s electric vehicles can drive themselves. The company has been criticized for testing its unfinished technology on public roads.
